ISO explains that certification is written assurance provided by an independent body. ISO itself develops standards and does not certify companies.

We can help the client compare certification scope, accreditation, sector competence, audit programme and commercial terms, but we do not present consultancy as independent certification.

That separation is a strength. It protects the certificate from a conflict that sophisticated customers and tender committees may question.

Current transition intelligence

Standards change. ISO introduced climate change considerations into management system standards in 2024. Organisations must determine whether climate change is relevant to their context, while interested parties may have related requirements.

As at 20 July 2026, ISO 9001 Edition 6 is under publication after the final draft stage and is expected to replace ISO 9001:2015 in September 2026. ISO 14001:2026 has been published and the 2015 edition is withdrawn. Qabas confirms the applicable baseline and the certification body’s transition plan before implementation begins.
